Center and State Rules and Regulations
Arrival & Departure Procedures
The Division of Child Care requires that each child be signed in and out each day he or she attends our center. Therefore, each time you bring your child, you must sign in the time your child arrives and leaves the center. The sign in/out book is located in the entryway.
To ensure your child's safety, we ask that you escort your child into the center and to the proper classroom. Also, please inform the teacher in the room that your child has arrived and remain with your child until he or she is accepted by the teacher.
Medication & Illnesses
We follow the guidelines in the Child Care Division handbook. Copies of the handbook are available upon request. Children who have been ill within the previous 24 hours will not be accepted into the center. If a child becomes ill during the day, his or her parent will be notified to pick up the child. The child will be kept away from the other children until the parent arrives. Please respond promptly when you have been notified to pick up your sick child.
If your child requires medication during the day, whether it is prescription, nonprescription medication, diaper rash cream, or sunscreen, a consent form signed by a physician and the parent must be completed stating the dosage of the medication and giving the center permission to administer it. All medication must be labeled with your child's name and the date, and must be in its original container.
Children must have their immunizations current. You must provide dates when an immunization is given in order to keep our records current. We also require proof that your child has received his or her a yearly physical.

We require a 2 week notice for withdrawal, if notice is not given, parents are responsible for tuition.
Meals
A nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are served daily. Our menu has been approved by the Colorado Child and Adult Food Program. Weekly menus are posted for your review. If your child requires a special diet or has any allergies, please inform the center and we may need you to bring a substitute along with a doctor's note.
Discipline
We believe in clear, consistent, and age appropriate limits to help children become responsible for their actions. Children are encouraged to express their feelings, thus learning to positively work through their emotions. Teachers act as role models and use positive reinforcement to encourage constructive behavior and cooperation.
When inappropriate behavior does occur, teachers help children understand why the behavior is inappropriate and how to change it. We often will use redirection to steer the child into a new activity or group of peers. With older children, repeated problem behavior may result in the child being placed in time-out (brief isolation from the activity and/or group).
